## Job Summary
The Front-End Development Team Lead is responsible for leading the Front-End Development team in delivering scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions for Mercans' cloud-based Payroll, HR, and Recruitment platforms. The role oversees team performance, establishes development standards, drives technical excellence, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative front-end applications.
### Key Responsibilities
#### Leadership & Team Management
* Lead, mentor, and develop the Front-End Development team.
* Plan workloads, assign tasks, and monitor team performance.
* Conduct performance reviews and support career development.
* Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and resource planning.
* Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
#### Development & Architecture
* Design and maintain front-end architecture, coding standards, and best practices.
* Develop secure, maintainable, and high-performance front-end applications.
* Deliver projects on time while ensuring code quality and scalability.
* Optimize application performance and resolve technical bottlenecks.
* Implement reusable components and modern development practices.
#### Collaboration
* Work closely with Back-End, UX/UI, Product, and QA teams.
* Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
* Conduct code reviews and encourage knowledge sharing.
* Ensure effective communication across development teams.
#### Innovation & Process Improvement
* Drive automation and workflow improvements.
* Evaluate and adopt emerging front-end technologies where appropriate.
* Contribute to strategic technical initiatives and continuous improvement.
#### Documentation & Quality
* Ensure compliance with engineering standards and best practices.
* Maintain technical documentation for applications and integrations.
* Support the full lifecycle of front-end interfaces and integrations.
### Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
* 6+ years of front-end development experience using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
* 3+ years developing Single Page Applications using Vue.js or similar frameworks.
* 2+ years leading software development teams.
* Experience with MySQL, MongoDB, REST APIs, CI/CD, GitLab, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
* Strong knowledge of SQL, event-driven architecture, queues, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
* Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or HR/Finance software is an advantage.
### Key Performance Goals
* Reduce production code defects by **30%** through improved coding standards, testing, and reviews.
* Achieve **100% code review coverage** for all code changes.
* Conduct **6-8 technical coaching and self-improvement sessions** within six months.
* Improve targeted team technical skills by **15%** through structured development plans.
* Improve estimation accuracy by **20%** by refining planning, estimation techniques, and retrospective analysis.
* Continuously enhance code quality, delivery efficiency, and team productivity through automation and engineering best practices.
