Construction Manager, GREF - Construction Management

The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) team provides real estate transaction expertise business partnering space & occupancy planning design and construction capital investment program management and facility maintenance and operations for Amazons corporate real estate portfolio across multiple countries. We partner with suppliers to ensure quality innovation and operational excellence with Amazons business and utilize customer driven feedback to continuously improve and exceed employee expectations.

GREFs Construction team is looking for a Construction Manager to drive construction services on projects including tenant improvements new builds expansions and renovations of Amazon corporate facilities. Responsible for delivery of projects from outset of design through operational turnover this individual must be comfortable operating on both strategic and tactical levels simultaneously acting as an internal ambassador educator analyst solutions architect and implementer. This role collaborates with leadership and other stakeholders to set a budget and schedule then drive project objectives scope space allocation cost prioritization and sequencing of requests all within the set parameters. All of this is accomplished by building strong project teams that thrive and excel through collaboration. Manage contractor performance to ensure timely completion compliance with cost requirements organizational standards and other requirements and regulations.

The role requires traveling to construction sites in Africa Middle East Türkiye Greece Israel Malta and Cyprus.

This position is office-based; however Amazon encourages open communication about unique needs for flexible arrangements.

Key job responsibilities
- Represent GREF to internal customers for the delivery of their space.
- Work closely with and influence internal and external stakeholders including architects consultants contractors and subcontractors to ensure decisions are made at the appropriate level and Amazons priorities are always the driving factor.
- Provide management of design and construction projects which may include the following:
- Develop and implement project strategies and ensure appropriate resources are allocated to complete the project in accordance with the strategy. Develop and maintain project timelines.
- Lead project meetings and progress reviews.
- Provide feedback to design guidelines including minimum specifications basis of design for various building systems etc.
- Guidance of construction including selection of contractors contract negotiations approvals of budgets change orders procurement and contracting methods schedule and subcontractors.
- Evaluations approvals or rejections of changes - Monitor project budgets track costs and prepare forecasts and accruals manage change orders and contract modifications review and approve payments.
- Identify and mitigate project risks ensure compliance with contracts and regulations monitor safety standards and requirements address and resolve project issues.
- Hold Landlords accountable to lease terms such as premises delivery timing and condition.
- Ensure tenant improvement allowances are collected timely.

- Bachelors degree in Architecture Construction Management Engineering or a related field
- Experience as an Architect Engineer Construction Manager Development Manager Owners project management representative or in other Commercial Development and Construction related disciplines
- Highly competent with productivity software including Microsoft Office MS Project Dropbox and Sharepoint.
- Ability to travel to construction sites across GEO4 including Africa Greece Israel Malta and Cyprus.
- Ability to travel to construction sites across GEO5 including Middle East and Türkiye.

- Experience in project management in construction and contracts management
- Experience leading and managing a team (external or internal as required)
