The Manager – Construction & Electrical Store is responsible for the overall management of construction and electrical materials, including procurement coordination, receiving, inspection, storage, inventory control, issue, documentation, and reconciliation. The role ensures that the right materials are available at the right time while maintaining proper stock levels, quality, safety, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the construction and electrical store.
• Receive construction materials, electrical items, tools, equipment, and consumables.
• Verify quantities, specifications, quality, and condition of materials against purchase orders, delivery notes, and approved specifications.
• Ensure proper storage, identification, labeling, preservation, and systematic arrangement of all materials.
• Maintain accurate records of receipts, issues, returns, transfers, and stock balances.
• Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and coordinate timely replenishment.
• Issue materials to construction and electrical teams against approved material requisitions.
• Maintain control of high-value, critical, and fast-moving electrical and construction materials.
• Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies with system records.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Project, Engineering, Finance, and Site teams regarding material requirements and deliveries.
• Follow up on pending purchase orders and expected material deliveries.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of cables, electrical components, tools, PPE, spare parts, and construction materials.
• Implement FIFO/FEFO principles where applicable.
• Control damaged, surplus, obsolete, and returned materials and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and applicable quality requirements.
• Supervise storekeepers, helpers, and other store personnel and allocate daily responsibilities.
• Prepare regular inventory, consumption, shortage, and reconciliation reports for management.
• Maintain proper documentation for audits and ensure traceability of materials.
• Identify opportunities to reduce wastage, material losses, and unnecessary inventory costs.

Construction Materials

The position may oversee materials such as cement, steel, reinforcement bars, pipes, fittings, aggregates, fasteners, welding consumables, tools, hardware, safety materials, and other project-related construction items.

Electrical Materials

The position may oversee cables, wires, cable trays, conduits, switches, sockets, breakers, panels, transformers, lighting equipment, electrical accessories, testing equipment, and related spare parts and consumables.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Materials Management, or a related field.
• Relevant professional certification in stores, inventory, logistics, or materials management is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in construction, electrical, engineering, project, or industrial stores.
• Experience in managing construction and electrical materials is preferred.
• Experience supervising store personnel and coordinating with procurement and project teams.
• Familiarity with ERP/store management systems is desirable.
