Specification Manager

Our client is a manufacturer and supplier of premium wood-based interior solutions, serving the construction, fit-out, architectural, and design sectors across the UAE. They are seeking a Specification Manager , responsible for driving product specifications across major commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, and education projects. This role is critical in influencing project decisions at the design stage, strengthening relationships with consultants and architects, and securing long-term project pipelines. Success will be defined by the ability to increase specification wins, enhance brand presence within the architectural community, and convert specifications into commercial opportunities.

This is a senior, commercially focused role that sits at the intersection of business development, technical sales, and project engagement. The Specification Manager will work closely with architects, consultants, designers, and project stakeholders to ensure the company’s products are specified and approved on key projects. The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with excellent relationship management capabilities to drive project-led growth across the UAE market.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and execute a specification strategy to secure product approvals across major projects

· Build and maintain relationships with architects, consultants, interior designers, and project stakeholders

· Drive specification opportunities from concept design through to tender and project execution stages

· Promote product solutions through technical presentations, workshops, and client engagements

· Track project pipelines and monitor key developments to identify specification opportunities early

· Influence material selections and ensure products are included in project specifications and tender documents

· Coordinate with the sales team to support conversion of specified projects into awarded business

· Manage material submissions, mock-ups, samples, and product approvals throughout the project lifecycle

· Gather market intelligence on competitors, project trends, and specification activity

· Represent the organization at industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums to strengthen market presence

· Maintain accurate records of projects, stakeholders, and specification activities through internal systems

· Collaborate with marketing and technical teams to develop specification-focused materials and campaigns

Requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Business, or a related field

· Strong network of architects, consultants, designers, and project stakeholders within the UAE market

· Proven experience in specification selling and influencing decision-makers within project environments

· Strong understanding of construction, fit-out, and architectural project cycles

· Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills

· Commercially minded with a proven ability to drive project pipelines and business growth

· Strong organizational and project tracking capabilities

· Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications

· UAE market experience is essential; Arabic language skills are an advantage
