Description:

airCFO partners with high-growth startups by providing expert support across Finance, Accounting, People Operations, and Tax services. The company is looking for a People Operations Generalist to join its People Advisory Team and help startups build scalable, compliant, and efficient HR operations.

This role is ideal for an experienced People Operations professional who enjoys working in a distributed environment, managing client relationships, improving processes, and supporting employee lifecycle operations. The selected candidate will work closely with People Operations Managers, Payroll Specialists, and startup clients to deliver high-quality HR solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring accurate documentation, communication, and task completion.

• Maintain client employment data within People Operations technology systems and coordinate with HRIS providers.

• Conduct People Operations audits to identify compliance gaps and maintain accurate employee records.

• Create and maintain policies, employee handbooks, templates, checklists, and HR documentation.

• Support compliance research related to federal and multi-state employment regulations.

• Assist People Advisory Managers with complex client projects, recommendations, and documentation.

• Collaborate with Payroll Specialists on payroll-related support, onboarding, and offboarding activities.

• Monitor employment law updates and communicate required compliance actions to clients.

• Identify risks, workflow issues, and process improvements to enhance service delivery.

• Maintain documentation, playbooks, and processes to improve team collaboration and client handoffs.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of HR / People Operations experience, preferably in a startup, technology, consulting, or multi-client environment.

• Strong understanding of employee lifecycle operations, compliance, HRIS administration, documentation, and client communication.

• Payroll exposure or willingness to develop payroll knowledge.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

• Comfortable working across multiple time zones.

• Experience with tools such as Rippling, Gusto, Justworks, Notion, Slack, and Google Workspace is preferred.

• Passion for startups and helping organizations build scalable people operations.

• Strong knowledge of:

• HR operations, employee lifecycle management, and compliance.

• HRIS systems, documentation, and people analytics.

• Remote work processes and startup environments.
