Senior Disguise Operator (‘brain bar’)

Responsibilities
Manage the main functions of the Brain Bar within the virtual production studio, handling the complex infrastructure controlled by the Disguise XR system.
Gather and manage data from the LED wall, Unreal Engine environment, tracking system, and camera calibrations, ensuring synchronization and optimal performance.
Understand and manage the entire network of the virtual production studio, including PCs, nodes, servers, processors, racks, cabling, routers, and computer networks.
Utilize the Disguise system to its full potential for virtual production, XR applications, XR setups, and motion capture scenes.
Maintain proficiency in the UE5 environment, including creation, development, management, and optimisation of real‑time scenes and rendering.
Apply camera and shooting workflow knowledge, interpreting digital cine camera specifications such as syncing, aperture, shutter speed, focus, depth of field, and sensor ratio.
Coordinate with the practical set to match UE5 content projected on the LED wall with camera and shooting units, liaising with directors, DP, and producers.
Collaborate with image crews, technical crews, practical set teams, and the control‑room crew to maintain a comprehensive understanding of all data and information managed by the Disguise XR system.
Support the assistant Brain Bar operator in technical tasks on set, troubleshooting, and calibrating lenses and the Stype tracking system onstage.
Lead and align LED wall performance, camera settings, tracking system parameters, and UE5 content to deliver the final volume output on the LED wall.
Qualifications
- Experience managing complex, multi‑source software and infrastructure.
- Deep knowledge of the Disguise XR system and its application in virtual production and XR.
- Proficiency with Unreal Engine 5, including scene creation, optimisation, and real‑time rendering.
- Understanding of camera workflows and digital cine camera specifications.
- Strong network management skills covering PCs, servers, routers, and cabling.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with creative and technical teams.
