Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmology

We are currently looking for a Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmology for one of the leading Healthcare facilities in the UAE - Al Ain location.

Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmology

Managerial Task:

• Supports implements and follows all hospital departmental and divisional initiatives policies and procedures
• Helps lead and implement the organizations performance management system including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes
• Participates in the organizations performance management system including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes
• Assists with scheduling and supports the Division Chief in ensuring that adequate medical coverage is provided within the Division at all times
• Attends Divisional meetings as required
• Assists the Division Chief in the recruitment of new medical staff when appropriate
• Assumes other administrative or clinical duties as requested by the Division Chief

Technical Task:

• Diagnoses and treats patients according to established standards of best practice for the post holders specialty. The Consultant Physicians clinical duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Oversees the clinical activities of the junior medical staff and is assumes responsibility for the care they provide
• Complies with all established hospital polices regarding admissions consultations daily patient care surgical procedures discharge protocols outpatient and follow up practices
• Practices appropriate utilization of the organizations resources
• Leads ward round; reassesses both inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis in line with established best practice
• Accurately documents all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with established procedures
• Regularly reviews results of all investigations and modifies treatment as required
• Liaises with other medical specialties and support services for additional input as required
• Actively participates in multi-disciplinary meetings to help plan effective safe and holistic care for individual patients
• Ensures preparation of patients for all procedures including obtaining informed consent
• Accepts clinically appropriate referrals from the Emergency Department primary care other departments specialty clinics walk in patients and patients referred from other hospitals

Requirements

Qualifications:-

Qualification from Tier 1

Current national license or equivalent

Certified proof of yearly CME

Additional Qualifications:

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) and specialization in Pediatric Ophthalmology.
  
• American Board CCT UK Australian Board any Western Board Fellowship or additional certification in Pediatric Ophthalmology:
  
• Minimum of 5 years of post-specialization experience in Pediatric Ophthalmology:
  
• Valid DOH (Department of Health - Abu Dhabi) License or eligibility.
  
• Experience working within JCI-accredited hospitals is preferred.
