The Consultant - Pediatric Rheumatology is a senior clinical leadership role within the pediatric health care sector, dedicated to providing expert diagnosis, treatment, and long‑term management of complex autoimmune and inflammatory conditions in children and adolescents. This position plays a pivotal role in advancing patient outcomes through evidence‑based care, multidisciplinary collaboration, and clinical innovation. The Consultant will lead a specialized care team, contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives, and serve as a key resource for both clinical staff and families navigating chronic rheumatic diseases such as juvenile idiopathic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, vasculitis, and other connective tissue disorders. With 5+ years of specialized experience, the ideal candidate will combine clinical excellence with a commitment to compassionate, family‑centered care, while contributing to the strategic growth and reputation of the pediatric rheumatology program within a leading health care institution.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary evaluation and management of pediatric patients with autoimmune and inflammatory rheumatic diseases.
• Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating pharmacologic, physical, and psychosocial interventions.
• Lead and mentor a team of pediatric rheumatology fellows, residents, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals.
• Collaborate with specialists across disciplines—including immunology, genetics, orthopedics, physical therapy, and child psychology—to deliver integrated care.
• Participate in clinical research, including protocol development, data collection, and publication of outcomes in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives focused on enhancing diagnostic accuracy, treatment adherence, and patient satisfaction.
• Serve as a clinical educator for medical students, residents, and trainees through didactic sessions, case conferences, and bedside teaching.
• Engage in institutional and national professional organizations to promote best practices and advance the field of pediatric rheumatology.
• Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, regulatory standards, and institutional policies in all patient care activities.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree with board certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Rheumatology.
• Minimum of 5+ years of clinical experience in pediatric rheumatology, including advanced patient management in complex autoimmune conditions.
• Proven track record of clinical excellence, research contributions, and leadership in a pediatric academic medical center or tertiary care setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to engage patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Expertise in interpreting laboratory data, imaging studies, and genetic testing relevant to rheumatic diseases.
• Experience in teaching, mentoring, and supervising trainees in clinical and academic environments.
• Active participation in professional organizations such as the Pediatric Rheumatology International Trials Organization (PRINTO) or the American College of Rheumatology (ACR).
• Willingness to participate in on‑call duties and continuous professional development.
