Summary

Responsible to diagnose diseases and injuries in children, from fetuses to young adults, using medical imaging. They select and perform safe imaging tests, such as X-rays, MRIs, and ultrasounds, and adapt procedures to protect growing bodies from excess radiation.

Education/Qualifications Required

1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
2. Post-qualification certification
   • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
     • USA: The American Board of Pediatric Radiology (AMP)
     • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPC -Pediatric Radiology)
     • UK and Ireland: CCT/CCST Specialist Register – Pediatric Radiology )
     • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP – Pediatric Radiology)
     • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience post-board/equivalent certification in Austria, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland (CCST), United Kingdom (CCT) Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden OR Switzerland,
• Sub-Specialties: Minimum of two (2) years of experience post-sub-specialty certification in Austria, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, or the UK.

License

• Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
• Current BLS/ACLS Certificate

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Reporting Radiology and or NM Exams according to his/her qualification, privileges, and subspecialty.
• Adhere to the turn-around time of the department when reporting the assigned exams.
• Carry out on-calls as required by the department.
• Actively participates in QI activities.
• Reports any violations of the rules and regulations of the department to the Chairman.
• Participates in education and in formal education programmed of the Hospital.
• Participate in training Residents, audit their work, and encourage them to produce research work and publication.
• Participate in the Department Educational activities.
• Serve in Hospital Committees as appointed by Chairman or Hospital Director.
