Accountant - Construction

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with a solid background in contracting and construction accounting to join our clients team in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations handling project cost accounting and ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounting transactions including payables receivables journal entries and bank reconciliations.

• Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial reports.

• Track project costs analyze variances and ensure accurate job costing and cost control.

• Handle subcontractor payments supplier reconciliations and retentions.

• Manage VAT compliance filing and documentation.

• Process payroll and maintain accurate records of salaries benefits and deductions.

• Maintain general ledger and ensure timely month-end closing.

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

• Coordinate with external auditors and support the audit process.

• Ensure compliance with UAE tax laws and relevant regulations.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field.

• Minimum 3-4 years of accounting experience in the construction or contracting sector in sharjah

• Strong understanding of project-based accounting and cost control .

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Tally QuickBooks Zoho or ERP systems).

• Knowledge of UAE VAT laws and compliance procedures.

• Strong analytical and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
