Centene Corporation is seeking an organized and detail-focused Accounting Assistant to support its finance operations team in Tampa, Florida. This role is ideal for a professional with experience in accounting functions, payment processing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing cash receipts, maintaining billing records, supporting accounts payable activities, and analyzing financial reports. Candidates should have strong Microsoft Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage accounting tasks accurately in a healthcare-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply all received payments into appropriate accounting systems and databases.

• Enter and maintain manual billing information accurately.

• Update Accounts Payable check request logs and related records.

• Analyze financial reports, including aging activity, accounts receivable credits, days sales outstanding, and cash-to-revenue reports.

• Assist with semi-monthly billing processes.

• Support various accounting and finance functions across the organization.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, accounting, or finance.

• Minimum 1 year of experience in medical cash posting or line item posting.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

• Ability to analyze financial information and maintain accurate records.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

• Candidates must reside within the continental United States, with preference given to applicants in the Tampa, Florida area.

• Strong knowledge of:
