Job Description

Responsible for developing and completing the management reports and producing a variety of ad‑hoc reports, checking for accuracy and compliance with management requirements. Additionally responsible for reconciling and forecasting internal accounts, supervising and overseeing the duties carried out by the Financial Analyst, and establishing necessary financial and control systems to ensure accurate and timely work. Also responsible for budget preparation and planning by working with department heads on budget submission, assessing supervisory calculations impacting revenue and expense, and preparing a final presentation for the board.

Responsibilities

• Develop and complete month‑end management reports and presentations for the board
• Analyze financial data and interpret it to determine past financial performance
• Prepare a variety of ad‑hoc reports as required by management, covering budget information, data comparison, benchmarking, and checking for accuracy and compliance
• Conduct complex studies to determine the cost of business activities
• Recommend budget adjustments and cost‑improvement measures
• Determine and analyze complex statistical and financial data; interpret data to project financial probability
• Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis
• Establish and oversee financial and control systems and procedures
• Supervise analysis of obtained information and review all work prior to submission to management to ensure reports are accurate and well presented
• Collaborate with the Financial Analyst to acquire financial and quantitative information, using internal and external sources, ensuring timely submission to management
• Oversee duties assigned to the Financial Analyst
• Provide work direction and ensure that work produced and submitted to management is accurate and delivered within established timeframes
• Provide on‑the‑job training and orientation to the team during the course of work
• Promote a service‑oriented attitude in addressing employee queries effectively
• Develop and maintain a mechanism for sharing data to aid financial analysis and reporting
• Prepare budget calculations and advise supervisor/management on budget scenarios and sensitivity analysis
• Develop and update budget and rolling forecast templates to keep them current
• Facilitate the use of relevant systems for budget preparation and tracking

Accountabilities

• Ensure completeness and accuracy of reporting package, general accounting, and month‑end close process
• Ensure timely completion and validation of reports before sending them out to managers for review
• Maintain collaborative and effective relationships with key management personnel and stay abreast of significant economic, social, and technical trends, as well as regulatory guidelines that may influence assigned functions
• Assist with answering employee queries and concerns during their service at the facility
• Establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with similar‑level staff in related external organizations
• Liaise closely with management and finance to discuss reporting requests and findings, ensuring that management requirements are fully and accurately met

Qualifications

Experience:

• 4‑6 years of relevant progressive experience in a similar role

Desired:

• Experience in a large healthcare facility

Educational Qualification: Required:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or relevant field OR Diploma in a relevant field with 3 years of additional experience

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or relevant field
