Senior Data & Systems Analyst

The Senior Data and Systems Analyst within the IT Department is responsible for leading the analysis, management, and optimization of data systems to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, design and implement effective data solutions, and ensure data quality and governance. The Analyst also develops insightful dashboards and reports, stays current with emerging technologies, and ensures the security and scalability of the data infrastructure. By utilizing advanced analytical techniques and strategic insights, the Senior Data and Systems Analyst is instrumental in driving data-driven decision-making and fostering continuous improvement across the organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and objectives.


• Design, implement, and maintain data systems and processes.


• Extract, transform, and load data for analysis.


• Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance.


• Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports.


• Communicate complex findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.


• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in data management and analytics.


• Evaluate and recommend new tools, methodologies, and frameworks.


• Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to ensure scalability, performance, and security of data systems.


• Contribute to the development and implementation of data protection strategies, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity measures.


• These duties and responsibilities are subject to change, and additional tasks may be assigned as required by the line manager or the academy.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.


• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, systems analysis, or a related role.


• Proficiency in data manipulation, extraction, transformation, and loading techniques.


• Strong understanding of data quality principles and governance best practices.


• Experience developing and maintaining data models, dashboards, and reports using tools such as SQL, Tableau, or Power BI.


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.


• Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.


• Proven track record of staying updated on emerging technologies and trends in data management and analytics.


• Experience with data security, scalability, and performance optimization techniques.


• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and lead projects from conception to implementation.

Skills

• Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages such as SQL, Python, or R.


• Understanding of data modelling concepts and techniques.


• Ability to design, implement, and maintain data systems and processes.


• Knowledge of data extraction, transformation, and loading techniques.
