Operations Executive - SME Lending (6-month contract)

Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Executive to support the end-to-end processing of SME loan applications. The role is responsible for document validation, operational controls, stakeholder coordination, customer onboarding, loan disbursement, and post-disbursement servicing. The ideal candidate will have experience in banking, financial services, fintech, or lending operations, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple applications within agreed turnaround times.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and validate SME loan application forms and supporting documents for completeness, accuracy, and validity.

• Identify missing or inconsistent information and coordinate with the Sales team to obtain the required documents or clarification.

• Coordinate with Sales, Credit Risk, Compliance, Finance, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the timely processing of loan applications.

• Perform operational checks and controls in accordance with approved policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

• Maintain accurate application records and update the loan management system throughout the processing journey.

• Support the preparation and communication of loan offers and related documentation to approved customers.

• Coordinate customer onboarding, acceptance of loan documentation, and completion of pre-disbursement requirements.

• Verify that all approval conditions and operational requirements have been fulfilled before initiating disbursement.

• Coordinate with the relevant internal teams to execute loan disbursements accurately and within the agreed turnaround time.

• Send post-disbursement communications, including disbursement confirmation and repayment schedules.

• Handle post-disbursement loan maintenance activities, including customer detail updates, repayment schedule changes, mandate updates, payment follow-ups, and other servicing requests.

• Maintain complete and properly organized loan records for operational, compliance, and audit purposes.

• Monitor pending applications and service requests, escalate delays or discrepancies, and support timely resolution.

• Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives within SME Lending Operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Banking, Accounting, or a related field.

• Previous experience in banking operations, lending operations, financial services, fintech, or a similar role is preferred.

• Understanding of SME lending processes, customer due diligence, KYC, AML, and operational controls.

• Strong document-review and data-validation skills.

• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and process discipline. • Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to coordinate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams. • Ability to manage multiple applications and meet agreed turnaround times.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.

• Experience using loan origination or loan management systems is an advantage.
