Commis II Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Commis II to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks within a timely manner;
- Provide support to the Kitchen brigade;
- Contribute to Kitchen revenue through effective food cost control;
- Meet all health and hygiene requirements;
- Ensure consistent great food production, in line with the high quality standards expected by Hilton;
- Prepare and present high quality dishes within company guidelines;
- Be environmentally aware;
- Report maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues;
- Prepare all mis-en-place for all relevant menus;
- Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships;
- Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety and food safety legislation;
- Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contamination;
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures;
- To ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets;
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
Requirements:
- To maintain high team focus by showing co-operation and support To colleagues in pursuit of the department goals;
- Candidate must possess at least Certificate/ Advanced/ Higher Graduated Diploma in Culinary Art or equivalent required;
- Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English;
- Completion of an accredited commercial cookery course or trade apprenticeship;
- To maintain a high customer service focus by approaching your job with customers always in mind;
- A passion to learn and a drive to succeed in a culinary/hospitality career;
- Proven ability to work with a team and to follow instruction;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Required skill (s): knowledge in Malay, Chinese & India Cuisine. Malaysian Fusion Food & Western Food is an added advantage;
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Apprentice Chef;
- Good communication skills;
- To be flexible, responding quickly and positively To changing requirements;
- Proof of completion in a basic food hygiene course;
- At least 1 to 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field preferably Western and Malay required for this position;
- A passion for food and the culinary arts.
