Our company is looking for a Commis II to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform tasks within a timely manner;
  • Provide support to the Kitchen brigade;
  • Contribute to Kitchen revenue through effective food cost control;
  • Meet all health and hygiene requirements;
  • Ensure consistent great food production, in line with the high quality standards expected by Hilton;
  • Prepare and present high quality dishes within company guidelines;
  • Be environmentally aware;
  • Report maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues;
  • Prepare all mis-en-place for all relevant menus;
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships;
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety and food safety legislation;
  • Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contamination;
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures;
  • To ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets;
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.

Requirements:

  • To maintain high team focus by showing co-operation and support To colleagues in pursuit of the department goals;
  • Candidate must possess at least Certificate/ Advanced/ Higher Graduated Diploma in Culinary Art or equivalent required;
  • Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English;
  • Completion of an accredited commercial cookery course or trade apprenticeship;
  • To maintain a high customer service focus by approaching your job with customers always in mind;
  • A passion to learn and a drive to succeed in a culinary/hospitality career;
  • Proven ability to work with a team and to follow instruction;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Required skill (s): knowledge in Malay, Chinese & India Cuisine. Malaysian Fusion Food & Western Food is an added advantage;
  • Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Apprentice Chef;
  • Good communication skills;
  • To be flexible, responding quickly and positively To changing requirements;
  • Proof of completion in a basic food hygiene course;
  • At least 1 to 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field preferably Western and Malay required for this position;
  • A passion for food and the culinary arts.
