Diagnostic Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex electronic and vehicle system faults as directed by the Service Advisor and, when required, in the presence of the customer.
• Ensure customer complaints are accurately diagnosed, rectified, and documented, providing complete quotations and technical comments to the Service Advisor.
• Continuously update technical knowledge through formal training programs and self-learning initiatives to remain current with evolving automotive technologies.
• Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections using VDS testers and other diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults efficiently.
• Review complete vehicle history, service records, and related documentation to support accurate diagnosis and repair procedures.
• Coordinate with Parts Advisors, Team Leaders, and Workshop Controllers to ensure the correct parts are ordered and available.
• Stay up to date with manufacturer technical bulletins and service updates.
• Identify and ensure completion of all pending technical and warranty campaigns for MG vehicles.
• Verify and validate customer complaints during consultations.
• Differentiate between operational characteristics, system behaviors, and actual technical faults.
• Diagnose and repair issues related to vehicle networking, distributed functions, and communication systems.
• Maintain and manage an inventory of specialized diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Ensure warranty procedures and manufacturer guidelines are strictly followed in coordination with the Warranty Department.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation whenever required.
• Report any quality concerns identified on new vehicles.
• Maintain professional conduct, appearance, and customer service standards at all times.
• Ensure company assets are properly maintained and work areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Support the Master Technician and Service Manager with additional duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• High Diploma in Automotive Mechanics, Automotive Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Previous experience as an Automotive Senior Mechanic, Electrician, or Automotive Mechatronics Engineer is highly preferred.
• Strong expertise in diagnosing and repairing complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical vehicle systems.
• Experience working with advanced diagnostic tools and manufacturer repair procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced workshop environment.
• Fluency in English is essential.
• Arabic language skills are preferred.
• Computer literate with proficiency in workshop systems and diagnostic software.
• Familiarity with telephone and computer systems.
• Experience using advanced diagnostic equipment and specialized automotive tools.
• Valid UAE Driving License is mandatory.
