Job Description

The Assistant Learning & Development Manager supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the organization’s learning and development strategy. The role works closely with department heads, managers, and employees to identify development needs, coordinate training programs, promote continuous learning, and ensure compliance with company standards and applicable regulations.

The position also supports employee engagement, performance development, talent management, and the achievement of service and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Learning & Development

• Support the Learning & Development Manager in developing and implementing the annual training and development plan.
• Conduct training needs assessments in collaboration with department heads and line managers.
• Coordinate and deliver training programs, workshops, inductions, and development initiatives.
• Monitor training attendance, completion, effectiveness, and employee feedback.
• Support the development of individual development plans and career development initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve learning methods, content, and employee development programs.
• Maintain accurate training records and prepare regular L&D reports and dashboards.

Training & Compliance

• Coordinate mandatory training programs and ensure completion within required timelines.
• Support compliance with organizational training standards, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinate and monitor Forbes training and compliance requirements, ensuring relevant employees receive appropriate training and that records are maintained.
• Assist in preparing departments for internal and external training audits and assessments.
• Monitor training compliance and follow up with departments where required.

Performance & Talent Development

• Support the performance management and employee development processes.
• Work with managers to identify high-potential employees and development opportunities.
• Assist with succession planning, talent development, and career progression initiatives.
• Support coaching, mentoring, and leadership development programs.

Employee Engagement

• Support employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and activities.
• Develop learning initiatives that contribute to employee satisfaction, retention, and organizational culture.
• Act as a resource for employees and managers regarding learning opportunities and professional development.

Leadership & Coordination

• Support and coordinate the activities of the L&D team.
• Build effective relationships with department heads, managers, and external training providers.
• Assist with the selection and management of external training providers and facilitators.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development across the organization.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years above of professional experience in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Talent Development, or People Operations, preferably with experience in a supervisory or coordinating role.
• Proven experience in designing, coordinating, and implementing training and development programs.
• Strong knowledge of learning needs analysis, instructional methods, employee development, and training evaluation.
• Experience supporting performance management, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of training compliance and quality standards, with experience in Forbes training and compliance requirements preferred.
• Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with employees, managers, and senior stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Strong leadership, organizational, project management, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in HR data analysis, training metrics, reporting, and presentation of L&D insights.
• Working knowledge of UAE Labour Law, employment regulations, and HR compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in HRIS/LMS platforms and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong ability to manage multiple training programs, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality, attention to detail, and integrity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, Organizational Psychology, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Professional certification in L&D, HR, or talent development such as CIPD, SHRM, ATD, or equivalent is an advantage.
