FSI-JB-579 / HVAC Draftsman

The HVAC Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed HVAC shop drawings, installation drawings, layouts, and coordination drawings for building and MEP projects. The role involves developing accurate ducting and piping layouts, coordinating HVAC services with other disciplines, and ensuring drawings comply with project specifications and engineering requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed HVAC shop drawings and construction drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
• Prepare layouts for HVAC ducting, chilled water piping, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems .
• Develop drawings for AHUs, FCUs, FAHUs, VAVs, diffusers, grilles, louvers, dampers, and other HVAC equipment .
• Prepare duct layouts, chilled water piping layouts, sections, details, and riser diagrams .
• Coordinate HVAC systems with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and firefighting services .
• Review design drawings, specifications, and project requirements before preparing shop drawings.
• Identify and resolve clashes and coordination issues during the drafting process.
• Incorporate consultant/client comments and revise drawings accordingly.
• Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site installation.
• Assist with quantity take-offs, equipment schedules, duct/piping schedules, and material documentation when required.
• Coordinate with HVAC engineers, BIM coordinators, site engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Maintain proper drawing revisions and ensure drawings are issued according to project standards.
• Ensure all drawings are accurate, clear, and suitable for site execution.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering / HVAC / MEP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, chilled water piping, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems .
• Proficiency in AutoCAD ; knowledge of Revit MEP is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret HVAC, architectural, structural, and MEP drawings .
• Good knowledge of HVAC installation and construction practices.
• Understanding of MEP coordination and clash resolution.
• Strong attention to detail and drafting accuracy.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Experience:

3-5+ years of experience as an HVAC Draftsman, preferably with experience in UAE/GCC projects , particularly high-rise buildings, residential towers, commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, and large-scale construction projects .
