Land Surveyor – Detailed Job Description

Job Title: Land Surveyor

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Land Surveyor to carry out accurate land and construction surveys, establish site coordinates and levels, and provide surveying support for construction and infrastructure projects. The candidate will work closely with site engineers, project managers, consultants, and contractors to ensure all works are executed according to approved drawings and survey requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct topographical, boundary, setting-out, and construction surveys .
  
• Establish and maintain benchmarks, control points, coordinates, and reference levels on site.
  
• Carry out setting-out works for foundations, columns, walls, roads, drainage, utilities, and other structures.
  
• Perform accurate measurements of levels, distances, angles, elevations, and coordinates .
  
• Verify site conditions against approved drawings and survey data.
  
• Conduct surveys using Total Station, Auto Level, GPS/GNSS, and other surveying equipment .
  
• Prepare and maintain survey records, field books, measurement sheets, and reports.
  
• Check and verify existing survey control points and benchmarks.
  
• Provide accurate coordinates and levels to the site engineering team.
  
• Monitor construction activities to ensure correct alignment, elevation, dimensions, and positioning .
  
• Carry out as-built surveys for completed construction works.
  
• Prepare or assist in preparing survey drawings, site plans, and as-built drawings .
  
• Coordinate with civil engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and site supervisors.
  
• Identify discrepancies between actual site conditions and approved drawings and report them to the concerned engineer.
  
• Perform regular calibration and basic maintenance checks of surveying instruments.
  
• Ensure all surveying activities comply with project specifications and approved procedures.
  
• Maintain proper documentation of all survey activities and measurements.
  
• Assist with quantity measurements and earthwork calculations when required.
  

Equipment & Software

The candidate should have experience with:

• Total Station
  
• Auto Level / Digital Level
  
• GPS/GNSS
  
• AutoCAD
  
• Surveying and mapping software
  

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field .
  
• 3–7 years of relevant experience as a Land Surveyor.
  
• Experience in building, infrastructure, road, drainage, utilities, or civil construction projects .
  
• Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, coordinates, levels, benchmarks, and setting-out procedures.
  
• Ability to read and understand civil, structural, architectural, and infrastructure drawings .
  
• UAE/GCC construction experience is preferred.
  
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD and surveying instruments.
  
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  
• Good communication and coordination skills.
  

Short Client Requirement

Land Surveyor with 3–7 years of experience in construction and infrastructure projects. Must have strong experience in setting-out, leveling, topographical surveys, as-built surveys, benchmarks, coordinates, and site measurements. Proficient in Total Station, Auto Level, GPS/GNSS, and AutoCAD. UAE/GCC experience preferred.
