Senior Digital Forensics Examiner

Responsibilities

• Conduct forensic collections of digital evidence from cloud sources, computers, mobile devices, and other digital media using best practices.
• Perform advanced forensic scoping, consultation, analysis, and reporting.
• Create summary reports, forensic artifact reports, and formal expert reports for clients.
• Provide expert written and oral testimony regarding investigative forensic findings.
• Serve as a technical consultant on data management and digital forensic methodology.
• Ensure all hardware and software are validated according to established guidelines and the Federal Rules of Evidence.
• Maintain contemporaneous forensic examination notes and manage the chain of custody.

Requirements

• 9+ years of progressive technical experience in digital forensic collections and investigations.
• Hands‑on experience with forensic tools such as X‑Ways, FTK, EnCase, Magnet Axiom, or Cellebrite.
• Strong understanding of disk structures, file systems, and forensic artifacts for Windows and Apple operating systems.
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft Purview, Google Workspace, and their associated metadata.
• Proven expertise in chain of custody and evidence handling best practices.
• Excellent documentation and technical report writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the private sector performing e‑Discovery collections.
• 5+ years of experience performing dedicated forensic investigations and analysis.
• Previous experience testifying in civil or criminal courts in defense of forensic findings.
