Description
As a Visiting Faculty member within the Department of Business & Management at LSBU UAE, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Business, Management, and related disciplines. You will bring academic expertise, industry insight, and a passion for teaching to create engaging and impactful learning experiences for students. Working closely with Programme Leaders and academic teams, you will deliver module content, support student development, contribute to assessment activities, and help maintain the high academic standards expected of a British university.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Deliver assigned undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Business, Management, accounting & finance and related disciplines.
- Facilitate engaging lectures, seminars, workshops, tutorials, and learning activities aligned with approved module specifications.
- Apply student-centred teaching approaches that encourage participation, critical thinking, and academic achievement.
- Support students in developing academic, professional, and employability skills.
- Ensure teaching delivery aligns with LSBU academic standards and learning outcomes.
Assessment & Student Support
- Design, develop, and update module materials, assessments, and learning resources.
- Mark assessments and provide constructive, timely, and developmental feedback to students.
- Support moderation and quality assurance processes where required.
- Provide academic guidance and support to students throughout their learning journey.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment outcomes, and student engagement.
Academic Collaboration
- Work closely with Programme Leaders and academic colleagues to ensure effective curriculum delivery.
- Participate in module evaluation, quality assurance, and programme review activities.
- Contribute specialist knowledge and industry insights to curriculum enhancement initiatives.
- Support departmental events, workshops, guest lectures, and other academic activities where appropriate.
Research & Scholarly Activity
- Maintain an active profile within your academic or professional discipline.
- Engage in research, scholarly activity, consultancy, or professional practice relevant to your field.
- Contribute to research-informed teaching and knowledge exchange activities.
- Support the department's commitment to innovation, scholarship, and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking applicants who can demonstrate:
- A PhD in Business, Management, or a closely related discipline from a recognised university.
- A Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more business disciplines such as Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, International Business, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Operations, Logistics, Economics, Project Management, or related areas.
- A minimum of 2 years' teaching experience within a recognised university or higher education institution.
- Experience delivering undergraduate and/or postgraduate modules in Business and Management.
- Strong understanding of curriculum delivery, student assessment, and academic quality standards.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Publications in Scopus, Web of Science (WoS), ABS-ranked journals, or evidence of equivalent scholarly activity will be highly desirable.
- Industry experience within a relevant business discipline will be considered an advantage.
