Primary objective:

• The LeadPiping Engineer co-ordinates all the piping engineering piping design and equipment layout functions to meet the objectives of a Project.
• Responsible authority over the Lead Piping/Layout Engineer Lead Stress Engineer Lead Material Engineer all assigned to the discipline to complete the plant layout & piping design and engineering activities.

Specific Accountabilities:

• Organize and manage all aspects of the workload of a team of piping discipline engineers and designers within the parameters of a project schedule.
• Experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering
• Establish a list of discipline deliverables. Control monitor and progress these deliverables to an agreed schedule.
• Organise and manage the resource requirements for the piping discipline.
• Ensure recognised offshore engineering practices applicable to piping design and topside/plant layout are adopted.
• Exercise guidance to staff in the preparation of piping materials and valve specifications and subsequently ensure purchase to required standards.
• Apply good interpersonal skills liaising across the organisation with members of other disciplines and departments.
• Create an awareness and willingness to work in break through and partnering environment.
• Appraisal training and development of personnel.
• Quality Assurance Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.
• Safety Responsible for personal safety and working within the OHS&W procedure.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• A thorough knowledge of the codes and standards and a good understanding of offshore engineering practices applicable to topsides equipment layout and piping design for oil and gas facilities.
• Extensive current design experience is required in piping engineering piping stress pipe supports topsides equipment layouts and detailed piping design all gained with notable design contractors and/or oil/gas companies within the petrochemical industry particularly with respect to offshore oil and gas installations.
• Sufficient knowledge of piping materials to guide staff in the preparation of piping and valve specifications and subsequently ensure purchase to required standards.

Matching Indicators:

• Degree in Engineering. .
• Piping engineering experience in oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
