AECOM is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Digital Technician / Data Scientist to support our Quantity Surveying and Cost Management teams in the Dubai UAE office. The candidate will play a pivotal role in leveraging digital tools and technologies to enhance project efficiency accuracy and data-driven decision-making. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for digital innovation in the construction sector and wants to be a part of the success of the creation and implementation of planned and future digital initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Digital Support for quantity surveying and cost management teams:

  • Collaborate with quantity surveyors to ensure seamless integration of digital workflows into traditional practices.

  • Enhance and support cost planning cost control and value engineering processes using digital platforms.

  • Maintain and update databases ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for project teams.

  • Generate information rich reports and dashboards using data visualization tools.

• Data Management & Analysis:

  • Collect organize and analyse project data to provide actionable insights for cost management.

  • Develop and maintain digital templates workflows and automation scripts to improve efficiency.

  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with company standards and protocols.

• Technology Implementation:

  • Provide training and technical support to team members on digital tools and processes.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance project delivery.

  • Support cross-functional teams in adopting digital practices and fostering a culture of innovation.

Qualifications :

A degree or diploma in a relevant field such as Quantity Surveying Digital Engineering Software Engineering Computer Science Data Analytics or a related field with a minimum GPA of 2.8

Specific Skills Required:

• An understanding of common construction industry digital tools like BIM authoring and management software (e.g. Revit Navisworks ACC Solibri Aconex) CostX or similar platforms.

• Advanced skills in Python SQL data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) and other relevant software.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

• Experience with programming and developing automation tools with Dynamo Python VBA or similar scripting languages.

• The ideal candidate would have experience working in teams to deliver complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

• Effective communicate including speaking to groups and providing training sessions from time to time would be required.

• Well established organization and time management skills.

• Confident to engage and positively challenge with other team members across disciplines and of different seniorities.

• Be inclusive and supportive and contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
