Graduate Technician Trainee (Power)

Role Description

The Trainee Technician – Mechanical & Electrical (Power) is an 18‑month development programme that combines classroom instruction and on‑site training. Upon successful completion, trainees progress to Technician Level1 and may pursue a permanent career with Aggreko.

Responsibilities

• Participate in classroom and hands‑on training to maintain and service generators and related equipment.
• Gain in‑depth knowledge of power generator electronics and mechanics, including routine maintenance, servicing, and troubleshooting.
• Assist senior technicians with commissioning, repair tasks and the resolution of generator breakdowns across multiple sites.
• Maintain detailed records of training progress, service reports and equipment inspections to ensure accountability and compliance.
• Strictly follow Aggreko’s QHSE and safety protocols at all times.

Key Performance Indicators

• Successful completion of the 18‑month training programme and logbook.
• Ability to independently perform all maintenance, troubleshooting and repair tasks expected of a technician.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and related equipment.
• Consistently adhere to safety and compliance standards and policies.
• Maintain high standards, a positive attitude and commitment throughout the training programme.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent).
• Willingness and ability to travel as required.
• Valid local or international driving licence, or willingness to obtain one.
• Business‑level English proficiency.
• Highly motivated with a positive attitude to work.

Location

UAE & Bahrain with short placements to depots across the region.
