Assistant Finance Manager

Our partner is seeking a skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join the organization. The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, providing strategic financial guidance, and ensuring the financial health and stability of the company. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial principles, and a proven track record in financial management.

Responsibilities :

• Develop and execute financial planning strategies, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and providing recommendations for improvement.
• Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis to support decision-making processes.
• Financial Reporting and Compliance:
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Coordinate and support external audits and tax filings.
• Manage cash flow and liquidity to optimize working capital and support operational requirements.
• Monitor and analyze cash flow projections, identifying potential risks and recommending appropriate actions.
• Implement and maintain effective cash management policies and procedures.
• Identify and assess financial risks, such as market volatility, credit risk, and liquidity risk.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and internal controls.
• Monitor and evaluate insurance coverage to ensure adequate protection against financial risks.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, contributing to overall business strategy and decision-making.
• Evaluate investment opportunities, conduct financial due diligence, and make recommendations for capital allocation.
• Collaborate with other departments to assess the financial implications of business initiatives and provide cost-effective solutions.
• Lead and develop a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, support, and coaching.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, promoting continuous learning and growth.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. (CIMA, ACCA, CPA Required)
• Shipping Industry experience would be an advantage.
• Proven experience as a Finance Manager or similar role, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management.
• In-depth knowledge of financial principles, accounting practices, and financial regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems. Experience with advanced Excel functions is essential.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• High ethical standards and integrity in handling financial information.
