Merchant KYB Analyst

Responsibilities
- Conduct end-to-end KYB reviews for prospective merchants, ensuring all onboarding documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant
- Review and verify business registration documents, Articles of Incorporation, EIN, Tax ID, and proof of address
- Identify and verify Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs), including ownership structures, sanctions screening, and PEP checks
- Perform adverse media, reputation, and open-source investigations across businesses and key personnel
- Evaluate merchant business models to identify indicators of payment facilitation or prohibited activities
- Review chargeback history, prior processor relationships, and fraud indicators
- Prepare thorough case documentation and lift complex findings to Underwriting, Compliance, or Legal teams
- Prepare and maintain monthly merchant reporting for partners including Worldpay and PPRO
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in KYB, KYC, AML, merchant onboarding, or financial crime
- Experience in fintech, payment processor, PSP, or regulated financial services
- Strong experience in business verification, UBO validation, and sanctions screening
- Excellent investigative and research skills using corporate registries and open-source intelligence
- Ability to review corporate filings, legal documents, and financial records
- Strong understanding of merchant risk and payment flows
- Experience with high-risk merchant categories (gaming, digital goods, etc.) is a plus
- Familiarity with Visa/Mastercard onboarding and MCC classifications is a plus
- Experience with Persona or G2 Risk Solutions is a plus
