Commis - Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

Our client is looking for a passionate and hardworking Commis Chef to join their kitchen team. This role is ideal for someone who s at the early stages of their culinary career and eager to learn in a fast-paced professional kitchen. You will support the chefs in daily food preparation ensuring quality hygiene and consistency are always maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in food preparation and basic cooking under the supervision of chefs
  
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your station and kitchen equipment
  
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards in line with company and local regulations
  
• Measure mix and prepare ingredients as per recipes and chef instructions
  
• Ensure ingredients are properly stored labeled and rotated (FIFO)
  
• Help with receiving and checking food deliveries
  
• Support other kitchen sections during busy service times
  
• Take part in training and development activities as required
  

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a kitchen setting or a culinary diploma with internship experience
  
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques
  
• Strong interest in learning and developing cooking skills
  
• Good communication and teamwork skills
  
• Able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  
• Understanding of hygiene health and safety standards in a kitchen

Preferred:

Prior experience in a hotel fine dining or high-volume restaurant environment

Food safety certification is an advantage
