Test Lead

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive testing of Prime Issuing and Acquiring application modules with hands‑on experience in functional testing.
• Perform end‑to‑end testing across system modules, validating transaction flow, reconciling reports, and settlements.
• Apply domain expertise in functional, regression, and compliance testing, ensuring the integration of payment gateways and transaction workflows.

Key Result Areas

• Lead and coordinate testing activities with business, operations, developers, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare test plans and approach based on business requirements.
• Identify, document, and track defects, collaborating with development teams for resolution.
• Possess strong knowledge of card operations, covering the transaction process from authorization to settlement.
• Provide regular test progress reports, highlighting critical issues, resolutions, and overall test status.
• Work independently and collaboratively within cross‑functional teams.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Adapt quickly to new environments and learn new domains.

• Operate in a fast‑paced, highly regulated, complex payments environment, managing operations across multiple regions and jurisdictions.
• Balance operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and compliance with global and local regulations while ensuring seamless service delivery to merchants, partners, and stakeholders.
• Maintain high engagement with business units, digital squads, audit bodies, schemes, and outsourcing partners.
• Support business in defining solutions for UAT projects, products, and initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with Visa, Mastercard, vendors, service providers, and associations for operational/system changes, transaction processing, and exception handling.

Problem Solving

• Review system issues and failures, escalating for prompt resolution; highlight critical business‑impacting issues to stakeholders.
• Ensure consistency and continuity in customer promises for all products and new product launches.
• Strive for problem resolution by understanding customer needs and protecting the bank’s culture and image.
• Provide necessary training and guidelines to unit officials for handling exceptions and maintaining adequate control levels.

Decision Making Authority & Responsibility

• Decide on process changes for new products and initiatives.
• Determine GL configurations for new products, scheme acceptances, and business initiatives.
• Set UAT requirements and sign off projects for issuing and acquiring initiatives.
• Define settlement changes for new scheme implementations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Extensive knowledge of issuing and acquiring operations, including chargeback, interchange, settlement, merchant onboarding, servicing, and payments.
• Knowledge of VAT requirements, applicability, and implementation.
• Hands‑on experience implementing new systems for issuing and acquiring businesses.
• Six or more years of multi‑discipline banking experience with end‑to‑end knowledge of cards‑acquiring and issuing domains.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, solution‑oriented, and interpersonal skills.
• Client communication and people‑management abilities.
• Capability to meet stringent client deliverables and handle conflict and decision‑making.
