Director of Academic Support Services

The American University in the Emirates (AUE) is seeking a highly motivated and organized Director of Academic Support Services to lead the Academic Support Services Office . The Director will oversee the administrative and operational functions of academic support units ensuring efficient service delivery and a high level of student satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership excellent organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleges departments and university leadership to enhance the overall academic experience.

Job Purpose

The Director is responsible for overseeing comprehensive academic support services that provide students with additional learning and development opportunities outside the classroom. This position ensures the effective delivery of academic skills programs learning support initiatives and continuous improvement of student academic outcomes.

Qualifications & Education

• PhD in Educational Psychology Counseling Adult Learning or a related field.

Reporting Line

• Reports to: Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Services
• Direct Reports: Library Manager and Director of Student Counseling and Disability

Experience

• 23 years of experience in an academic or learning support role.
• 5 years of experience at a managerial level in higher education or a related field.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage student academic support issues in collaboration with staff and faculty members.
• Monitor student academic progress and coordinate case management with relevant stakeholders.
• Partner with deans faculty and curriculum leaders to identify and address student academic needs and concerns.
• Lead and mentor Academic Support staff promoting continuous professional development.
• Develop and implement academic support policies and procedures in compliance with university and accreditation standards.
• Oversee the annual budget goals and objectives of the Academic Support Office.
• Conduct benchmarking studies and analyze student academic data to drive continuous improvement.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
