MECHANIC FOREMAN

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Foreman to lead the maintenance, repair, and planned servicing of heavy earthmoving equipment
and mobile cranes. The role supports dredging and marine infrastructure projects by ensuring maximum fleet availability through structured PM execution, hands-on
technical supervision, and spare parts coordination.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for earthmoving equipment (excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders) and mobile/crawler cranes per OEM intervals.
• Supervise corrective repairs including engine overhauls, hydraulic cylinder rebuilds, undercarriage replacement, and crane structural/wire rope inspections.
• Lead and coordinate a team of technicians; conduct toolbox talks, allocate daily tasks, and enforce PTW/LOTO and PPE compliance.
• Identify technician skills gaps and deliver on-the-job training in hydraulic systems, crane inspection, load chart reading, and earthmoving diagnostics.
• Raise Material Requisitions for spare parts and PM kits; expedite critical POs with Procurement to minimise equipment downtime.
• Maintain minimum stock levels for fast-moving items and coordinate parts traceability with the Stores Supervisor.
• Submit daily equipment status reports and weekly PM compliance reports to the Workshop Superintendent.
• Maintain crane inspection registers and ensure third-party Load Test Certificates are current per UAE statutory and NMDC requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years' maintenance experience on heavy earthmoving equipment and/or mobile cranes; minimum 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, undercarriage, and crane structural inspection.
• Ability to read OEM service manuals, hydraulic schematics, and electrical diagrams.
