Dredge mechanic for Dredger

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of dredger machinery and mechanical systems.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair pumps, engines, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, winches, and dredging equipment.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of all mechanical equipment to minimize downtime.
• Monitor machinery performance and identify potential defects before failures occur.
• Carry out maintenance activities in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, spare parts usage, and equipment condition.
• Assist in dry-docking, overhauls, and major repair projects as required.
• Coordinate with the Chief Engineer and technical team to plan maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, permit-to-work systems, and environmental regulations.
• Supervise contractors and assist in the training of junior mechanics and crew members.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in workshops, engine rooms, and machinery spaces.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency

Qualifications

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanic on dredgers, offshore vessels, or similar marine equipment.

Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pumps, and rotating equipment.
