Planning Engineer
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Experience Required: 3–5 years in construction projects
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, update, and monitor project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project .
- Develop baseline schedules and detailed work programs.
- Track project progress against planned milestones.
- Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, procurement, and subcontractors.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Identify delays and assist in developing recovery plans.
- Monitor manpower, equipment, and resource utilization.
- Assist in risk assessment and schedule impact analysis.
- Support tender planning and project scheduling activities.
- Maintain project planning documentation and reports.
Typical Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of planning/scheduling experience in construction projects.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 ; knowledge of Microsoft Project is often an advantage.
- Good understanding of construction methods and project lifecycles.
- Strong skills in Excel and report preparation.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and project contracts.

- Progress measurement and reporting.
- Resource loading and forecasting.
- Delay analysis.
- Cost-control awareness.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
Difference from Planning Manager
- Planning Engineer: Focuses on creating and maintaining schedules, tracking progress, and preparing reports.
- Planning Manager: Leads the planning function, manages planning teams, develops project planning strategies, and oversees schedule performance across projects.
