Location : Abu Dhabi

Role Purpose:

The Risk Manager has to continually assess and identify potential risks evaluating these risks to ensure that they are appropriately mitigated through properly implemented policies procedures training systemsand controls. Brokerage Risk Manager is an accredited Job by SCA.

Key Accountabilities of the role

• Supervision and Managing Risk Management function with ADIB Securities in line with Regulatory guidelines and Company policy and procedures and implementing Group Risk Management framework and strategy.
• Identifying potential financial risks through thorough and ongoing risk assessments with relevant business leads.
• Liaising with the business to identify team specific risks to maintain & update the Business Risk Assessment.
• Evaluating identified risks against a variety of information & factors (e.g. documents /statistics /reports /trends) to provide commentary and recommendations about how to mitigate these risks.
• Ensuring the risk priorities are effectively addressed through a regular testing program of policies procedures systems and controls.
• Initiating action to address any gaps or deficiencies identified during the remediation process.
• Ensuring timely updates of the risk register (RCSA).
• Supporting concerned departments in tracking action plan till closure.
• Establishing and quantifying the organizations risk appetite risk strategy & Risk structure.
• Conduct Risk assessments and examine the effectiveness of the controls and their compliance with the established policies and procedures.
• Coordinate and conduct Quarterly BRCC meetings.
• Contributing to BRCC meetings on current risk issues and developments.
• Monitoring Margin Trading Clients daily positions.
• Sending Daily margin report to related departments for further supervision and control.
• Handling margin calls notices and liquidations
• Monitoring the concentration of the approved margin caps.
• Coordinating semi annual review of the marginable list with the market risk team.
• Daily reporting of margin trading positions.
• Coordinate annual review and renewal of margin credit program.
• Reporting of operational incidents & fraud incidents within the agreed time frame.
• Coordinating with SCA and Markets surveillance teams for inspections and Information Requests.
• Supporting compliance on risk linked activities and functions.

AIMS

• Proactively safeguarding ADIB Securities assets and its customers from risks that can counterpart e.g. Reputational credit market risks and Legal Risks.
• Conduct control testing then manage and mitigate reputation and operational risks that might lead to losses.
• Identifying and managing ADIB Securities emerging operational Risks and mitigating through proper controls.
• Develop common understanding of risk across multiple functions and business units so we can manage risk effectively
• Contribute to protection of ADIB Securities by proper managing of the financial risks.

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:

• Brokerage Risk Manager is an accredited Job by SCA related Degree and CISI exams required.
• Good knowledge of Risk functions in the brokerage field.
• Sufficient experience in Risk Banking & other related areas. Audit and Legal background is added value.
• Strong knowledge of the UAE SCA ADX & DFM Regulations and Rules
• Strong knowledge of Brokerage products policies & procedures.
• Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills.
• Ability to balance between Risk requirement business needs and potential risks.
• Computer Skills use of applications especially Microsoft Office
• Fluent in English/Arabic

Previous Experience Required

8 Years experience in banking and financial services sector (preferably in Compliance or Risk).

Accredited by SCA as Risk Manager.
