Role Overview
Our Digital Merchandising Trainee will support the Digital Merchandising team in delivering an exceptional online shopping experience. This role provides hands-on exposure to luxury e-commerce, trading, website merchandising and analytics while developing the skills required for a career in Digital Merchandising.

On-Site Merchandising

• Assist with homepage, campaign and landing page updates across relevant markets and regions.

• Support the merchandising of new arrivals, seasonal edits, campaigns and promotional collections.

• Ensure banners, collections, featured products and merchandising updates are implemented accurately and on time.

• Support the optimisation of product visibility based on trading performance, stock availability, newness and commercial priorities.

• Develop an understanding of how merchandising decisions impact product discovery, customer engagement and conversion.

Trading & Performance Analysis

• Prepare daily and weekly trading reports to support the wider Digital Merchandising strategy and team.

• Monitor sales, product performance, bestsellers, new arrivals, stock availability and key trends to identify opportunities to the wider Digital Merchandising team.

• Support the analysis of customer behaviour and merchandising performance to understand opportunities and areas for improvement.

• Conduct regular competitor analysis, reviewing product offering, pricing, promotions, merchandising and customer messaging to identify relevant market trends and opportunities

Search & Product Discovery

• Support the optimisation of on-site search results and overall product discovery.

• Assist with search merchandising, boosting rules and product rankings.

• Monitor customer search behaviour, key search terms, zero-result searches and search performance to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Support updates to website navigation, filters and product categorisation.

Personalisation & Customer Experience

• Support the execution of personalised merchandising experiences across key customer journeys.

• Assist with product recommendations, curated collections and relevant merchandising experiences.

• Develop an understanding of how customer behaviour and engagement can be used to inform merchandising decisions.

Website Quality Assurance

• Perform daily website health checks to ensure products, content and merchandising are displayed correctly.

• Identify and report merchandising, navigation, product or content issues, and support the team in ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner.

• Support promotional quality assurance before and during campaign launches.

AI-Assisted Merchandising & Reporting

• Support the use of AI-powered tools to improve merchandising and reporting efficiency.

• Assist with generating reports, summarising performance and identifying insights using AI technologies.

• Explore opportunities to use AI and automation to streamline repetitive merchandising and reporting tasks, with guidance from the wider team.

Behavioural & Collaborative Expectations

• Work collaboratively with the wider Digital Merchandising team and build positive relationships across key cross-functional teams, including Buying, Marketing, Trade, Content and Operations.

• Participate actively in team meetings, trading discussions and relevant cross-functional sessions, building confidence in sharing observations, insights and ideas.

• Attend regular store walkthroughs to develop an understanding of the omnichannel customer journey, product performance and how online and store experiences connect.

• Demonstrate curiosity and a willingness to learn, proactively asking questions and seeking to understand the wider impact of Digital Merchandising decisions.

• Take ownership of assigned tasks, communicate clearly on progress or blockers and consistently follow through on agreed actions.

• Be open to feedback and demonstrate continuous development in commercial awareness, analytical thinking, communication and overall professional presence.
