Josephine is a waterfront Mediterranean restaurant at Rixos Premium Dubai in JBR, inspired by the sea and the spirit of maritime life. Originating on the shores of Istanbul’s Golden Horn and now charting a course for Dubai, Josephine brings vibrant coastal flavours, fresh seafood and generous sharing dishes to an elegant day-to-night setting overlooking the Arabian Gulf. It is a place where Mediterranean dining, warm hospitality and life by the water come naturally together.

Job Description

We're launching Josephine , an elevated Mediterranean dining destination at Rixos Premium Dubai, designed to become one of the city's most sought after culinary experiences. This is not another hotel restaurant, it is a standalone lifestyle concept with its own identity, personality and ambition.

We're looking for a visionary Head Chef who is passionate about Mediterranean cuisine, obsessed with quality, and inspired to create unforgettable dining experiences. Unlike a traditional hotel operation, this is a rare opportunity to shape a new culinary destination from the ground up.

What You'll Do

Lead the culinary opening of Josephine from pre-opening through successful launch and ongoing operations.

Develop and execute an authentic, contemporary Mediterranean menu that celebrates premium ingredients and exceptional craftsmanship.

Recruit, inspire and develop a talented culinary brigade that delivers excellence every service.

Maintain the highest standards of food quality, creativity, presentation, hygiene and consistency.

Drive innovation while balancing commercial performance, profitability and guest satisfaction.

Partner closely with the Corporate Culinary Director to bring the Josephine culinary vision to life.

Create an energetic, disciplined and performance-driven kitchen culture.

Who You Are

A passionate culinary leader with proven experience leading premium restaurants or luxury lifestyle dining concepts.

An expert in Mediterranean cuisine with strong knowledge of regional ingredients, techniques and modern culinary trends.

Experienced in restaurant openings or major culinary transformations.

A leader who builds engaged, motivated and high-performing teams.

Commercially minded with strong financial and operational awareness.

Calm under pressure, highly organised and driven by excellence.

Someone who believes every plate tells a story.

Qualifications

Previous experience as Head Chef, Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef in a luxury standalone restaurant, beach club or internationally recognised lifestyle dining concept.

Strong expertise in Mediterranean cuisine is essential.

Pre-opening experience is highly desirable.

Demonstrated success managing large culinary teams in high-volume premium dining environments.

Excellent leadership, coaching and people development skills.

Strong understanding of food cost, labour management, purchasing and kitchen profitability.

HACCP and food safety certification.

Fluency in English.
