Genetic Counseling Assistant I

Responsibilities
- Review genetic test orders for completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness
- Facilitate test setup by linking relative samples and positive controls
- Document order details and updates in internal systems
- Identify issues and place tests on hold for downstream processing
- Notify clients of issues and resolve discrepancies in missing information
- Respond to patient and provider inquiries via phone and email
- Process incoming referrals and coordinate patient scheduling
- Support the Patient Counseling Team with follow-up tasks and workflow management
- Maintain working knowledge of test ordering and scheduling systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Medical Technology, Healthcare, or a related scientific field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in mathematical reasoning and computer literacy
- Ability to work specific shifts: Tues-Sat 8am-4:30pm ET OR Mon-Fri 1:30pm-10pm ET

- Foundational knowledge of Genetic Counseling Assistance
