Our company is looking for a Occupational Therapist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Review patients’ medical history and asses their condition and needs;
- Recommend and teach patients how to use adaptive equipment that will help them with daily living, such as wheelchairs and eating aids;
- Guide patients to perform tasks to meet their goals;
- Evaluate patients’ ability to do certain tasks;
- Confer with physicians, patients and their families, nurses, therapists, social workers, and other members of a patient’s care team;
- Planning treatment and providing it to the respective patient;
- Accompanying patients on sessions outside of the hospital and provide therapeutic interventions during these times if required;
- Assist in the implementation of assessment recommendations as needed;
- Lead specialized assessments related to sensory-motor development; write quality, compliant assessment reports;
- Assist in coordinating, communicating and seeking consultation with community agencies as appropriate;
- Taking sessions on time management, anxiety management tricks and techniques;
- Provide support and guidance to the organization as a member of the ISE Network Support Team;
- Provide high-quality and evidence based occupational therapy services;
- Provision of individual sessions with patients;
- Providing customized services as per different disabilities of patients.
Requirements:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy;
- Willing to work for 5 days a week (7:30 am to 5:30 pm);
- Preferably Sensory Integration Certified;
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic;
- Advanced Computer Literacy – MS Office;
- Willing to work for 12 hours (AM and PM shift), 48 hours per week;
- Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office & Excel);
- 2+ Years of Experience working with patients who have ASD conditions;
- Excellent Communications Skills (Afrikaans & Xhosa Advantageous);
