Senior Buyer

The Senior Buyer qualifies vendors, evaluates bids, and negotiates prices and terms for purchased goods and services. Purchases materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for the organization. Being a Senior Buyer typically requires a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. Tracks purchases, monitors vendor quality, and maintains a current database of vendor information. In addition, Senior Buyer typically reports to an executive or a manager. Being a Senior Buyer contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Working as a Senior Buyer typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience.

Our company is looking for a Senior Buyer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct competitive bid;
  • Strategist;
  • Review on SOP and make sure compliances;
  • Deliver on customer needs;
  • Provide Kaizen idea on improvement plan which helping to enhance the current process flow;
  • Understand and applying SHEQ management, associated procedures and legislation;
  • Assist for vendor billings;
  • Run MRP, process requisitions, maintain price list and system prices, vendor list, check consumable stock levels and re-order point items;
  • Purchasing process and collaborate with PMT for new project introduction;
  • Loading, confirming and distributing (local and overseas) orders, expedite own orders;
  • Admirative day-2-day task like supplier payment term clarification, price discrepancy verification, vendor extension and etc;
  • Able to write good meeting summary and communicate effectively with all key stakeholders;
  • Have a good sense of urgency and provide timely response to internal and external customers;
  • Being independent in managing own desk and able to do a proper escalation when a need arises;
  • In charge of delivery control include cost down activity.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years Senior Purchasing experience;
  • Good negotiation skills with external vendors to secure advantageous terms;
  • Strong analytical and planning skills;
  • Ability to maintain flexibility as priorities change;
  • Resourceful, honest and trustworthy;
  • Electrical background advantageous;
  • With keen interest in the industry of computer and console gaming products and procurement;
  • Excellent IT Skills, Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, AS400;
  • 5 years experience within a similar role;
  • Ability to work effectively to meet tight deadlines and in high pressure situations;
  • Willing to learn and keep pace with the changes in the field of computer and console gaming;
  • Specialization in Supply chain would be beneficial;
  • Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management;
  • NDip;
  • Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office application or its open source equivalent like Openoffice, Libreoffice, etc..
