SENIOR TELECOM ENGINEER

The Senior Telecom Engineer is responsible for reviewing enquiry documentation and the Scope of Work (SOW) and for executing assigned tasks related to the preparation and verification of engineering deliverables. The role involves ensuring accuracy technical compliance and quality of telecom systems design while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. The engineer is also accountable for mentoring junior engineers and ensuring project execution aligns with internal standards and HSE regulations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure correctness and accuracy of all Engineering Deliverables issued on the project.
• Guide and train discipline engineers coordinating closely with the Lead Engineer.
• Check project drawings documentation calculations Material Requisition technical evaluations and manpower estimates for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate own activities with other disciplines to ensure effective progress and avoid duplication.
• Collect and review engineering queries before passing them to the Lead Engineer.
• Participate in design review meetings offering expert advice on engineering matters.
• Coordinate various engineering inputs for bid preparation.
• Ensure all necessary completion actions are taken post-project.
• Mentor subordinate engineers.
• Ensure compliance with HSE Engineering Standards.
• Maintain adherence to all company policies and procedures.
• Participate in design and drawing creation for systems such as FOC laying FOTE PABX LAN CCTV video conference VSAT microwave VHF UHF and structured cabling.
• Review telecom specifications data sheets design basis materials and equipment scope.
• Conduct comprehensive checks on all engineering work prior to release.
• Conduct site visits and liaise with clients and site personnel.
• Carry out conceptual to detailed design QA/QC procurement and delivery activities.
• Maximize discipline efficiencies during bidding and project execution.
• Generate and assist in preparation of telecom specifications data sheets detailed drawings and deliverables including schematic diagrams cable schedules and 3D models.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree or higher in any engineering discipline from a reputable institution.
• Minimum 10 years of proven work experience in telecom roles within the oil and gas industry.
• Experience in FEED/EPC project engineering.
• Familiarity with telecom standard such as ITU IEC IEEE TIA/EIA.
• Excellent computer skills (MS Office AutoCAD and other design/engineering software).
