Geotechnical Engineer

Description of the Role

• Provide Geotechnical engineering services as per Abu Dhabi Municipality requirements including but not limited to soil test work permit requirement boreholes numbers & depth for different kind of buildings/ infrastructures method statements and scope of work.
• Review of geotechnical investigation reports including shallow foundations and deep piling recommendations/calculations liquefaction analysis seismic design parameters as per Abu Dhabi code.
• Review of geophysical investigation reports using different methods (MASWERTCHSDHS).
• Review of dewatering method statements and calculation/drawings.
• Review of soil improvement reports method statements and calculations as well as all kind of soil improvements technics (surface dynamic compaction drainage methods vibration methods precompression and consolidation grouting and injection. Chemical stabilization soil reinforcement geo textiles and geo membranes stone columns).
• Review quality control test results all soil test results prior to any foundation works.
• Attend technical meetings as required by the projects and the clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the delivery of the highest quality of work to SOCOTEC clients.
• Deliver services within the timeframes dictated by the client and SOCOTEC.
• Responsible for ensuring that work is carried out as per the relevant instructions.
• Consistently exceed clients expectations.
• Comply with SOCOTECs group policies and procedures.
• Achieve and maintain the highest qualification levels determined by SOCOTEC for the relevant consultancy disciplines.
• Take an active and full role in the quality assurance of services delivered by SOCOTEC through document review supervision audit and assessment of other staff members providing support and leadership to the engineering team.
• Stand out as a good example to all staff.
• Undertake such other responsibilities that might reasonably be required by the company.
• Ensure the highest standards of administration.

Health and Safety Responsibilities

• Comply with Socotec International and client quality safety and environmental systems and procedures at all times.
• Ensure that all accidents incidents near misses or hazards are immediately reported and relevant paperwork is completed.
• Work within the team to develop a culture where everyone embraces upholds and accepts responsibility for a safe workplace a healthy working life a sustainable environment and the right and duty to intervene.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor in Geotechnical Engineering.
• 8 years experience including 4 years in Abu Dhabi.
• Knowledge of ADM codes and local regulations BSASTMAASHTO codes for geotechnical works.
• Fluent in English. Arabic recommended.
