Quality Assurance and Assessment Manager

The American University in the Emirates is searching for an efficient Quality Assurance and Assessment Manager to coordinate facilitate and advance assessment practices and processes across the campus in support of evidence informeddecision making and planning to enhance student learning teaching research and service. TheQuality Assurance and Assessment Manager will monitor and ensure the instructional strategies and assist with the evaluationof assessment tools and student learning outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Masters Degree or Terminal Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent qualifications
• 5 years academic and administrative experience in higher education with functional knowledge of institutional effectiveness/quality assurance.
• Knowledge and expertise in technology integration in the area of institutional assessment.
• Knowledge of assessment and pedagogical practices and methodologies.
• Knowledge of Learning theories and practices.
• Preferably bilingual (speaks English and Arabic fluently)

• Maintains a professional image and relationships with faculty/students and all stakeholders.
• Experience in Quality Assurance implementing and monitoring Policies and Procedures
• Must maintain confidentiality
• Accountable for the smooth running of the office with all administrative responsibilities and tasks
• Effectively resolves daily matters independently
• Knowledge of University programs and operations including Administrative and Academic affairs is preferred.

Job Description

1. Monitor faculty members course delivery and ensure course assessments and students grades are conductedand published in a timely manner in accordance with the course syllabi.
2. Monitor the development of the assigned course assessments and provide constructive feedback on theassessment strategies and tools to ensure their appropriateness in accordance with the identified courselearning outcomes.
3. Guide support and ensure the development of the grading scheme (rubric) is appropriate and rigor in line with the course and program level.
4. Assist in the development of assessment tools for ensuring valid reliable and rigor assessment of a curriculumin line with the CAA Standards and National Framework QF Emirates Strands.
5. Assess the quality of the program courses to ensure the rigor of materials used for programs within theAcademic Departments and contribute to the improvement of associated quality assurance mechanisms).
6. Guide support and monitor the implementation of the recommended improvements to ensure continuous improvement.
7. Serve as a liaison between the Institutional Effectiveness Assessment office and the academic departments andor programs.
8. Guide support and monitor the development and implementation of the annual program assessment plans and reports in coordination with Vice President of Academic Affairs and program directorschair of departments.
9. Communicate to the Universitys concerned stakeholders the goals achievements and use of results of the academic programs to ensure continuous improvement.
10. Develop comprehensive analysissummary reports as necessary to help academic programs evaluate the effectiveness of course assessments.
11. Work closely with the concerned committee(s) to assist in addressing the issues pertaining to academic programs assessment and provide the needed support.
12. Work closely with the compliance and accreditation office to provide the needed support in the accreditation activities relevant to academic programs assessment
13. Identify and secure funding from various sources to support the University mission in line with the university advancement and fundraising plan.
14. Cultivate relationships with current and prospective donors ensuring their continued engagement and support for the institution.
15. Perform any duties as assigned by the superiors.
