Job Description
- Build, Lead and mentor our growing engineering team.
- Drive the technical execution of our product roadmap, fostering a collaborative environment where software engineering best practices meet the unique challenges of the dredging and marine construction industry
- Develop innovative solutions, manage technical teams, and build high-quality software to enable our digital transformation.
- Lead, manage, mentor, and build a team of software engineers and data engineers fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and creative problem-solving
- Establish Engineering best practices, frameworks, agile methodologies and tools to promote Technology Engineering Excellence in an industrial setting
- Ownership of Engineering Budget. Manage resources including staffing, software licenses, and tools
- Closely partner with product managers, UX/UI designers, business stakeholders, and the IT Group to develop the technical strategy, design and architecture of the Business Unit's technology platform
- Lead the engineering team in executing the technical strategy ensuring the highest standards of design patterns, code quality, solution extensibility, usability, and maintainability
- Help define a clear framework of compliance, governance, system integration and data integrity between the Business Unit (Vertical) and IT Group (Horizontal)
- Guide the design and architecture of a purpose-built data platform for the Business Unit establishing an ecosystem for data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence and other innovations
- Design and implement a SaaS platform enabling multiple feature teams to build business-specific solutions while maintaining a standard user experience
- Lead and conduct technical evaluations of 3rd party applications / solutions
- Establish DevOps processes and best practices
- Create comprehensive framework for Quality Assurance, Testing, and Automation
- Strive to learn and apply latest technologies and methodologies promoting a culture of continuous learning on the team.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- A Master's degree is a plus
- Minimum 12 years of experience in full-stack software engineering, with at least 03 years in leadership roles.
- Proven experience in building and scaling software and data engineering teams
- Expert in SDLC processes and technologies (full-stack development, APIs, PaaS, DevOps, Cloud)
- Advanced proficiency in product management tools (e.g., Jira, Gitlab, etc.)
- Familiarity with on-premises and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Experience with managing budgets and familiarity with financials
- Strong leadership, mentorship, communication, and analytical skills
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time, within budget, that delight customers
- Willing and capable of establishing processes and creating methodology frameworks from the ground up
- Ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and create realistic business cases for technology initiatives
- Customer-centricity reflected in interactions with colleagues and partners, as well as through solution design
- Experience in digital transformation in "big industries" such as maritime, construction, oil and gas, and others is a bonus
