Louvre Abu Dhabi champions cultural achievements from prehistory to the present day. The galleries are not separated by geography but set in chronological order, the aim is to encourage respect, curiosity, learning and self-reflection.

Louvre Abu Dhabi is looking to appoint a “Communications Officer” to join the Development, Marketing and Communications Department. The role holder is responsible to assist the team in the delivery of the effective communications to promote and protect the reputation of Louvre Abu Dhabi predominantly through the internal and external communications (primarily media relations).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Work with the wider Communications team to ensure the smooth running of the press office including being a key point of contact for all media enquiries, monitoring the press office email, tracking contact details and requests for media and facilitating interview requests for the museum.
2. Daily monitoring of the media landscape to outline coverage generated, potential issues or industry news.
3. Develop and maintain relationships with external media providers and journalists, including welcoming and tracking all press contacting or visiting the museum. It also includes coordinating press trips for Louvre Abu Dhabi and engaging with various local and international press.
4. Develop written material including press office documents (press releases, fact sheets, written Q&As) as well as internal documents (such as briefing and messaging documents and speeches). These documents are often required in multiple languages which is the responsibility of the Officer to coordinate.
5. Support the team by coordinating media standard and ad-hoc training for relevant stakeholders to ensures smooth delivery of Louvre Abu Dhabi messaging.
6. Support the team members in issues related to crisis management, predominantly through rigorous media monitoring.
7. Work with other team members to manage the internal communications of the museum to ensure staff across the museum are up-to-date with the latest information.
8. Work with the team to make recommendations about and to staff commercial and non-commercial photography and videography requests, in line with the policies and processes, ensuring the positive promotion of Louvre Abu Dhabi’s brand.
9. Coordinate external resources such as agencies, press monitoring agencies and translators for specific tasks. This includes briefing photographers and videographers for Communications’ related briefs.
10. Conduct regular reports about museum perceptions, press output and coverage analysis to identify successes, trends and monitor risks, and provides feedback and recommendations to the Communications team.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, Journalism or related disciplines.
2. Experience or interest to join a museum or an arts and culture related institutions is an advantage.
3. Position is only open to UAE National (with family book) and must be fluent in English and Arabic.
