Coating Inspector - NACE Level 2

Orbit International Survey Services LLC is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Coating Inspector NACE Level 2 to perform inspection verification and monitoring of coating and painting activities in line with project specifications and international standards. This role is vital to maintaining quality assurance across fabrication shops and onboard operations ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with departmental policies procedures and operating protocols to ensure controlled and consistent operations.
  
• Ensure all work activities adhere to applicable construction codes project specifications and procedural guidelines.
  
• Conduct in-process and final inspections both in-shop and onboard to verify coating and painting compliance.
  
• Participate in the identification and planning of inspection-related activities.
  
• Coordinate with classification societies third-party inspection agencies client representatives and internal departments to ensure project requirements are met.
  
• Halt non-conforming processes document issues via occurrence reports propose corrective actions and confirm the effectiveness of rework.
  
• Maintain accurate up-to-date inspection records and reports.
  
• Ensure seamless execution of assigned inspection tasks to support operational continuity.
  
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives aligned with industry best practices cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  
• Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports in line with company and client standards.
  
• Follow safety quality and environmental policies to ensure a compliant and hazard-free work environment.
  
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or project management.
  

Requirements

Education: Diploma or Degree in a relevant technical field.

• Certification: Certified NACE Level 2 Coating Inspector.
  
• Experience: Minimum 3 5 years in a similar inspection role preferably in shipbuilding ship repair or oil & gas projects.
  
• Language Skills: Proficient in English (written and verbal); additional languages are a plus.
  

Technical Proficiency:

• Strong understanding of coating standards (e.g. SSPC ISO ASTM) and application techniques.
  
• Demonstrated ability to conduct inspections in both shop and onboard environments.
  
• Excellent technical vocabulary and report writing skills.
