An accounts job role typically involves managing financial records, transactions, and reporting within an organization. Here's a breakdown of common responsibilities:

• Bookkeeping : Recording financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, in accounting software or ledgers.
• Accounts Payable (AP) : Managing the payment of invoices from suppliers and vendors, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Accounts Receivable (AR) : Tracking payments from customers or clients, issuing invoices, and following up on overdue payments.
• Reconciliation : Ensuring that financial records accurately reflect transactions by reconciling bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Financial Reporting : Preparing financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements to provide insights into the financial health of the organization.
• Budgeting and Forecasting : Assisting in the development of budgets and financial forecasts to guide decision-making and resource allocation.
• Compliance : Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards, such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
• Audit Support : Assisting with internal or external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support as needed.
