Nanny (Live In Position)

Job Summary

The nanny will provide attentive, reliable and nurturing childcare in a private household, ensuring children’s safety, wellbeing and development are prioritised. This role supports parents by delivering age-appropriate care, routine management and stimulating activities aligned with the family’s values and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive supervision of children throughout the day, ensuring a safe environment and responding promptly to needs, illnesses or emergencies.

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that support learning, social development and physical activity, including reading, creative play, outdoor time and educational outings.

• Manage daily routines such as meal times, naps, dressing, bathing and school runs in accordance with family preferences and schedules.

• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children, accommodate dietary requirements and encourage healthy eating habits.

• Maintain children’s personal belongings and living areas, including tidying toys, laundering children’s clothes and ensuring bedrooms are organised and safe.

• Support homework and school-related activities, liaise with teachers where required and help prepare children for school and extracurricular commitments.

• Administer basic first aid when necessary and follow family procedures for medications, healthcare appointments and emergency contacts.

• Communicate regularly and respectfully with parents about children’s day-to-day progress, behaviour, milestones and any concerns.

• Occasionally undertake light household tasks related to childcare, such as preparing children’s meals, cleaning up after activities and organising play areas.

• Respect family confidentiality, household routines and any cultural or parenting practices in place.
