Site Engineer

A Site Engineer in a fire fighting company is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of fire protection systems at various construction or industrial sites. They ensure these systems comply with safety regulations and project specifications, manage site teams, and maintain quality control.

Key Responsibilities:

System Design and Planning:

Develop fire protection system designs (including sprinklers, alarms, and suppression systems) in accordance with relevant codes (NFPA, local regulations).

Site Supervision:

Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of fire alarm, fire fighting, and suppression systems.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, company policies, and project requirements.

Coordination and Communication:

Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders, and act as the main technical advisor on site.

Project Management:

Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and manage resources effectively.

Quality Control:

Ensure the quality and efficiency of fire protection systems, including conducting site surveys and risk assessments.

Problem Solving:

Address any technical issues or challenges that arise during the project.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, and any deviations from plans.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of fire safety codes and standards (NFPA, local regulations).

Experience in designing, installing, and maintaining fire protection systems.

Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for design and analysis.

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience in the firefighting industry is highly desirable.
