Pizza Sous Chef – One&Only The Palm Resort (Dubai)

We are seeking a Pizza Sous Chef to join the culinary team at the One&Only The Palm Resort in Dubai. The successful candidate will oversee the entire pizza‑making process, assist the Chef de Cuisine with coordination and supervision of the kitchen department, and work toward achieving guest satisfaction, budget food cost, and overall kitchen expense targets. Responsibility includes stepping in for the Chef de Cuisine when absent.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead by example in time and attendance according to company handbook.
• Ensure allocated areas of responsibility are prepared and ready as per departmental lists.
• Ensure subordinates perform within the framework set forth in their job descriptions and performance standards.
• Ensure kitchen staff commence duty on time and wear correct uniforms, complying with health regulations.
• Practice daily on‑the‑job training and assist the Chef de Cuisine in monthly training sessions and classes.
• Ensure safe working conditions for all kitchen personnel.
• Report and record daily maintenance requirements.
• Manage deliveries, ensuring proper inspection for quality, quantity and pricing.
• Minimize waste.
• Verify staffing levels of the department.
• Ensure fast and efficient service to guests.
• Handle customer relations and address complaints promptly and satisfactorily.
• Propose creative ideas for new dishes, presentations, and food promotions to supervisor.

Qualifications

A suitable candidate will have a minimum of 2–3 years’ experience as a Pizza Sous Chef within an upscale 5* hotel/resort environment, excellent interpersonal skills, a flexible and dynamic team‑player attitude, and the ability to deliver the highest standard of guest service. Excellent written and spoken English is required; additional language skills are highly regarded.
