Lead Mechanical Engineer – Oil & Gas | Abu Dhabi (Site-Based)
A major EPC contractor delivering high-value Oil & Gas infrastructure projects across the Middle East is currently hiring a Lead Mechanical Engineer (Incharge Level) for a long-term onshore construction assignment in Abu Dhabi . The role is tied to a large-scale carbon capture and storage initiative , reflecting the UAE's commitment to energy transition and sustainability.
About the Role:
The Lead Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for executing and overseeing all mechanical construction works on-site. This includes managing large labour forces, supervising subcontractors, ensuring technical compliance, and driving safe, efficient project delivery.
Ideal candidates will have significant experience on Oil & Gas projects in the region, particularly with large EPC contractors and clients such as ADNOC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all site-based mechanical works and team activities.
- Lead project execution in alignment with construction plans, quality and safety requirements.
- Manage schedules, manpower, and resource allocation across mechanical scope.
- Resolve technical issues and coordinate closely with engineering and planning disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with both company and client (e.g., ADNOC) specifications and HSE guidelines.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. or B.Tech).
- Minimum 15 years' experience in mechanical construction within EPC Oil & Gas environments.
- Prior experience working on onshore Oil & Gas projects in the UAE or Gulf region .
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems in large-scale infrastructure builds.
- Experience leading teams and subcontractors in complex site-based operations.
